News: Carluke Concert

There was a good turn out of members for the visit to St Andrews Church in Carluke on Friday 20th February and the choir performed an entertaining and varied programme to an appreciative audience.

This was another chance to perform our new pieces and 'High On A Hill' went particularly well with Hugh Grant playing his Cornet from the pulpit behind the choir which was the closest thing we could get to a hill!

The soloists for the evening were Bill Walker, Nat McKain, the Laurel and Hardy 'team' of Alistair Mackie, Bill Grainger, Ian Gray, Simon Harkness, Ian Harkness, and George Russell, and finally the Jolly Beggars inspired some audience participation with a Selection of Scottish Songs.

The next concert is on Thursday 5th March in St Andrews Church Coatbridge and is a fund raiser for Monklands Rotary Club, and the long awaited CD will be recorded on the afternoon of Sunday 8th March.
