Good Send Off For Jimmy

There was an excellent turnout of Choir members at Jimmy Allan's funeral held in the Congregational Church Stonehouse.

The service was conducted by the Rev Kathryn Smith Anderson who in her eulogy touched on the various aspects of Jimmy's life. Starting work on a farm, then serving as a tank driver with the Scots Guards during the last war followed by a long career in the police, the minister specially made mention of his long association with the Choir and the high regard he enjoyed from his fellow choristers. Two of Jimmy's favourite hymns were sung:- How Great Thou Art and Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah with the Choir members in good voice. After the committal at the Glebe Cemetery, hospitality was offered and gratefully enjoyed at the Shawlands Hotel.
